How to Use Navionics Boating App with Your Garmin Chartplotter
The Navionics® Boating app is a convenient way to plan your next adventure before you even get to the water. You can pre-fish a new area, mark your favorite spots on the map and plan a new cruising route with just a few taps on your compatible smartphone or tablet.
Want to transfer your app archive to a Garmin chartplotter?
All you need is the free ActiveCaptain® app to easily transfer routes and markers from your Navionics Boating app to a compatible Garmin chartplotter.
Here’s how to make the transfer:
- Install the Garmin ActiveCaptain app on your mobile device.
2. Launch the Navionics Boating app, go to Menu, open Routes, Markers and export the files to the ActiveCaptain app1.
a. You will need an active subscription to the Navionics Boating app. Log in to check your subscription status.
3. The ActiveCaptain app will automatically open. When this happens, a pop-up will appear, and you will need to click Import. Once your files are imported, you can find them by clicking Chart, Menu and then User Data. From that point, you’ll click on a specific route to see the details associated with that data.
4. Pair the ActiveCaptain app to your Garmin chartplotter. To skip the import process in the future, you can add routes and waypoints in the ActiveCaptain app and transfer them directly to your Garmin chartplotter.
