The Blacks Single-Track 10K and 5K Trail Run

Blacks, in association with The North Face and Garmin are proud to announce the inaugural Blacks Single-Track 10K and 5K Trail Run. It will take place on Sunday 17th October 2010 in the beautiful setting of the National Trust’s Dunstable Downs, Bedfordshire.  The race route will be a mixture of open chalk grassland, farmer’s fields and bridleways, with stunning views along the Chiltern Ridge, plus a couple of hills to add to the mix!

 
The aim is to get people out in the fresh air and tackle an off road running event that is achievable. The 5K race is intended for the beginner, or those who have never attempted this kind of event before, and the 10K will appeal more to those who like a bit more of a challenge.

Entry is £20 and registration is via the website www.blackstrailrun.co.uk  Every competitor will receive a goodie bag to the value of £25 and prizes will be awarded for each race including a pair of The North Face Single-Track running shoes for the winners.

Not only are the Dunstable Downs an area of outstanding natural beauty, there is a state of the art visitor centre with fabulous views and facilities. It is a great place to bring the family for a day out, with over 500 acres of chalk grassland habitats rich in wildlife and fascinating archaeological features. It is probably one of the best places to fly a kite and if that isn’t enough, Whipsnade Zoo is just around the corner!
