Dean takes third for Team Garmin in Ireland

Giving it his all to the very end, Julian Dean battled hard during Sunday’s finishing circuits to stick with the top contenders. The crowds lined the streets to cheer them round the mutiple circuits and the multiple ascents of the insane St Patricks Hill Climb (seeing was believing).

Unfortunately, Marco Pinotti from Team Columbia had just a bit more juice and took third on the stage behind the two-man break, earning the bonus time he needed to take the overall.

Julian finished third overall and 21″ off Pinotti after five days and nearly 22 hours of hard racing. Next up for the northern European crew is the Tour of Britain, which starts Sunday, September 7th.
