Buy with confidence: Garmin® offers new chart guarantee for pre-programmed BlueChart® g2 and BlueChart g2 Vision® cards
Garmin® the global leader in satellite navigation, today announced its New Chart Guarantee program, which will ensure that mariners who have recently purchased a new pre-programmed BlueChart g2 or BlueChart g2 Vision microSD/SD card receive the most updated charts available. This new program is being announced in conjunction with the Miami International Boat Show, February 16th, 2012.
“Garmin strives to make sure that our customers have the most accurate and up-to-date charts,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales. “As marinas are opened, harbour entrances are dredged, channel markers are altered, obstructions are added or removed and other vital on-the-water navigation elements change, having current charts is invaluable to the safety of a mariner and those around them.”
New Chart Guarantee entitles customers who recently purchased a new pre-programmed BlueChart g2 or BlueChart g2 Vision microSD/SD card to one free update to the newest version of charts. Updated charts will be for the same (or equivalent1) region as the original purchase, and are valid within six months of purchase. In addition, Garmin also offers a discounted update program so that customers can update their existing pre-programmed BlueChart g2 and BlueChart g2 Vision cards at a discounted price. Charts updated with the discount program will be for the same (or equivalent) region as the original purchase.
The New Chart Guarantee program is available now. To download the update, customers can go to www.garmin.com/mapupdates, or visit one of Garmin’s Outlet Programmer Dealers, who will have the ability to provide the BlueChart g2 or BlueChart g2 Vision update service starting April 1, 2012.
Garmin’s BlueChart g2 and BlueChart g2 Vision give mariners detailed offshore charts with realistic navigation features that show everything from shaded depth contours and coastlines to spot soundings, navaids, port plans, wrecks, obstructions, intertidal zone and restricted areas. For the ultimate navigation experience, BlueChart g2 Vision customers will have access to Garmin’s exclusive AutoGuidance technology that searches through relevant charts to create a route free of obstacles, shallow water, buoys and other obstructions. BlueChart g2 Vision also offers other premium navigation features like high-resolution satellite imagery, above- and below-the-water 3D perspective and aerial photographs for real-world reference.
