Garmin Approach Challenge finals day
Club golfers of the UK have been competing in their Approach Challenge medal rounds throughout the summer months for their ticket to the finals day at Celtic Manor’s Twenty Ten course on 3rd November.
The Twenty Ten course was host to a very wet 2010 Ryder Cup in October and the afternoon of the Approach Challenge finals day provided a similarly authentic Ryder Cup experience for the top 50 competitors from the UK’s golf clubs! Although the rain and wind blew the standard of golf was impressive and hard fought with Alan Young from Vale of Leven taking the title.
The top 5 competitors each receive £1,000 from the Garmin Junior Golf Scheme which pays for their club pro to teach the juniors of the club. The top 3 competitors each walked away with an Approach G5 golf GPS and a few Garmin goodies.
1st – Alan Young from Vale of Leven golf club
2nd – Neil Haskell from Celtic Manor golf club
3rd – Harry Nodwell from East Devon golf club
4th – Andy Jamieson from Greenock golf club
5th – Marc Davidson from Heworth golf club
We’d like to thank all the clubs that took part in the 2010 Approach Challenge and hope you enjoyed being a part of it.
