Due to the high volume of road closures in and around London and Surrey there are designated park and ride car parks that cyclists will have to use to access the city. Garmin are providing a bespoke point of interest download for the park and ride car parks and cycle routes to and from the start and finish lines. The POI’s and cycle routes will be available to download from the Garmin website from July. Cyclists can also download a 100-mile training plan to help with their final preparation from http://www.garmin.com/uk/ridelondon

Garmin are offering their cycling Twitter followers the chance to be one of the four cyclists who will represent Team Garmin in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 business relay. Each rider will ride 25 miles and receive a full Garmin Sharp cycling kit. Garmin’s Twitter followers will have until 5th July 2013 to tell Garmin why they should represent Garmin in 140 characters or less. The four winners will be announced on 8th July. Garmin are also offering 100 unlucky applicants of the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 sportive a second chance to take part. All participants who didn’t secure a place in the ballot will be contacted on 2nd July by Prudential RideLondon and offered the chance to enter a prize draw to be one of the lucky Garmin 100. The winners will be contacted by Garmin on 10th July.

“Garmin are proud to be a partner of such a monumental event and provide industry leading cycling and automotive navigation to its participants and spectators,” said Dawn Ramsay, UK General Manager at Garmin. “We’re also very pleased to be able to offer four places to riders who may not be able to complete the full 100-mile sportive the chance to ride 25 miles each and represent Garmin in the business relay and 100 riders who missed the ballot the chance to cycle the full Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100.”
