Garmin® dēzl™ Truck Navigation Now Available
The new Garmin navigator designed exclusively for the trucking industry, dēzl 560LT, is now available and can be seen at the Commercial Vehicle Show on the Garmin stand 4K122.
Garmin, the global leader in satellite navigation, has introduced a range of special features ideal for larger vehicles or fleets. dēzl has a big five-inch display, built-in loudspeaker made specifically for noisy cabs and a number of additional user-friendly features including truck-specific points of interest (POIs), truck speed limits, hazards and service exits. It also has advanced navigation, route planning and calculation with Garmin’s nüRoute™ technology.
“dēzl is more than a sat nav, it’s a business tool to save drivers time, fuel and money ” says Fleet and Enterprise Product Manager, Mark Timms. “It’s big enough to be seen, loud enough to be heard and smart enough to direct you around truck-specific hazards. It is the ultimate combination of practicality and convenience.”
Especially designed for the European trucking market, dēzl 560LT, is a lifetime traffic-enabled navigator* which notifies drivers of traffic delays and road construction on their planned route and suggests appropriate detours around them.
dēzl 560LT is also compatible with Garmin’s Fleet Management Interface. When deployed as part of a wider telematics solution even greater cost efficiencies and savings can be made. A specific dēzl 560LTF bundle will be available in May and can be purchased via Garmin authorised Fleet Management Partners.
Other features:
• Preloaded with detailed full Europe maps (44 countries, truck coverage may vary) for turn-by-turn directions and spoken street names, dēzl’s specialised routing supports truck-related restrictions that are customisable by height, weight, length and hazardous materials.
• The “exit services” feature enables drivers to quickly search upcoming motorway exits for food, fuel, lodging, rest areas, truck stops and weigh stations.
• Lane Assist with PhotoReal Junction View helps you navigate confidently while dēzl directs you to the appropriate lane for upcoming exits and junctions, with accurate road signs and landscape detail.
•nüRoute predictive routing includes trafficTrends™ which recommends routes using historical traffic data and myTrends™ technology to predict where you’re going without you needing to activate a route.
dēzl is portable and multimodal and can easily be switched from truck to car or RV/motorhome/caravan mode for taking with you from vehicle to vehicle.
dēzl 560LT has a recommended retail price of £349.99 and is available now.
dēzl 560LTF has a recommended retail price of £379.99 and is expected to be available in May.
