When anyone buys a product in one of Starbucks’s 700 UK stores, they will be handed a Garmin Fit ‘Pick of the Week’ download card. Once the cards are distributed, customers will have upto 60 days from the date they are available to redeem the complimentary offering on Apple's iTunes.

“We are so pleased our app is available in Starbuck and on iTunes “, says Linda Christoffersson, Garmin’s Marcoms Manager adding, “Garmin Fit is great for people who want to make the most of their exercise routine. The app turns your iPhone into a powerful fitness training tool which stores your fitness information and gives you the ability to share how well you are doing using social media.”

Garmin Fit puts a wealth of valuable data right at your fingertips. Using your iPhone GPS, the app tracks your movements and provides you with your current speed, distance travelled, elapsed time and calories burned. Plus, with the built-in music features, you can easily select the perfect soundtrack for your workout.

When your workout is done, your data is automatically updated to Garmin Connect™ where you can view your route on a map, easily track your progress, share your workouts with others and much more.

Working alongside Garmin Fit is a wide range of Garmin wireless fitness sensors such as the heart rate monitor that can easily monitor how hard you’re working. There is also a foot pod monitor for use indoors, along with a speed/cadence sensor or power meter to give valuable cycling data. To use these sensors your iPhone® will need a Garmin ANT+ Adapter for iPhone®. With the LiveTrack feature, friends and family can follow your activities.

With a monthly or yearly subscription, LiveTrack allows you to invite followers via email Facebook® or Twitter® for each of your fitness activities. Your invitees will receive a link to a website where they can view the position of your mobile device on a map², as well as track time elapsed, distance, speed and elevation in real time. They'll be able to virtually follow you during races or keep an eye on you while training.

¹Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life

²Use with caution. Anytime you post via Facebook or Twitter, the link will be available to anyone with access to your Facebook or Twitter profiles.
