The dēzl 760LMT is packed with trucking-specific functions, such as route calculation based on truck attributes, hazard warnings, trucking points of interest (POIs), an extra-loud speaker and backup camera support. Compatible with Garmin Smartphone Link, it is the only navigation device for truckers with the ability to receive real-time information3 through a smartphone app, such as fuel prices, traffic camera images and weather.

The Garmin dēzl 760LMT will be on display at the Elmia Truck Show (August 22-25, 2012) in the Garmin booth (B02:02) in Jonkoping, Sweden.

“The new dēzl 760LMT is designed to meet the specific needs of truckers, helping to make their jobTruckProfile_1 easier and save time, fuel, and money,” said Clive Taylor, Garmin director of EMEA product marketing. “Its seven-inch display makes it easy for truckers to see all the information they need at a glance and allows for split-screen depiction of our new Active Lane Guidance. With features like trip data recording, border notices and real-time information through Smartphone Link, the dēzl 760LMT becomes a full-featured digital assistant in the cab.”

Truck-Specific Navigation: With detailed maps and leading Garmin navigation technology, the dēzl 760LMT provides truck-specific routes and turn-by-turn directions based on vehicle height, weight, length and carriage. Users can simply enter their truck’s profile and the device will consider truck-verified roads that are suitable for the truck’s characteristics. It also provides warnings of upcoming hazards such as low tree branches and sharp curves. The device can save multiple truck profiles and users can change the active profile at any point. Finding pit stops is a cinch with trucking specific POIs, including truck stops, weigh stations, dealerships and washes. Garmin Exit Services allows drivers to quickly search for upcoming POIs at highway exits. Also included are sunrise and sunset times to follow after-sunset regulations, and country border notices to comply with legal requirements. PhotoRealJV

New Active Lane Guidance: Utilizing the large seven-inch display of the dēzl 760LMT, the new Active Lane Guidance is displayed in a split-screen next to the map view to guide drivers through the correct lanes up to an approaching turn or exit. In a moving lane animation a purple line indicates the way the driver should follow, showing truckers exactly which lane they have to be in and helping to avoid potentially dangerous last-minute manoeuvres. To ensure that truckers know ahead of time what is coming after the next bend, they will be shown up to the next four turns along the route ahead.

Fleet Management Interface Compatible: The new dēzl 760LMT can be part of your fleet management solution. It is also compatible with the Garmin Fleet Management Interface (FMI) and can be integrated within a telematics solution provided by a Garmin partner.

Real-Time Information via Smartphone Link: Garmin Smartphone Link for Android smartphones solves the problem of having to pay for an extra data plan to receive real-time information on a navigation device4. It utilizes the existing data connection of a smartphone by simply pairing it to the dēzl 760LMT via Bluetooth®. Users can then access real-time information right from their dēzl unit, such as traffic, images from traffic cameras, weather, parking, fuel prices and more. Garmin Smartphone Link is available at no cost in the Android Market and includes several free live services as well as premium content available through subscriptions.

Building upon Garmin’s 20 years plus of experience in the navigation space, the dēzl 760LMT also features many of the company’s signature navigation features. These include photoReal junction views with realistic images of upcoming complex junctions, Llifetime Map updates which allow you to update your device with new maps and points of interest up to four times a year, and Lifetime Traffic which means you never have to pay a subscription cost for alerts and routes around traffic.

The dēzl 760LMT is expected to become available in the fourth quarter of 2012 and will have a suggested retail price of £389.99. For more information visit www.garmin.co.uk
