Garmin Sponsored Tribe Photo Head to Haiti
Members of Tribe Photo, a charitable project sponsored by Garmin, are on their way to Haiti to help villagers there gain a source of income.
Founded by photographer and sailor, James Kell (pictured below middle), Tribe Photo aims to provide locals with access to cameras as well as training, then the opportunity to sell their work.
The team set sail from Southampton in their own yacht before Christmas, using Garmin marine navigation equipment plus Quatix GPS watches. They’re also using VIRB Elite Action Cameras to capture their journey.
After making it successfully across the Channel, through the Bay of Biscay and down to Lisbon, they’re set for the Canary Islands to pick up more team members to help with the work in Haiti.
The project is due to start in Febuary – but we look forward to hearing from James on how the journey is going before that!
