Garmin supports singlehanded round Britain challenge

Chris Brooks and Glenn Foster planned to break the record for sailing a beach catamaran around mainland Britain in under 28 days. Unfortunately, Glenn and another friend, Chris Hull, were lost in a tragic sailing accident whilst the three of them were delivering a yacht. Chris Brooks will now single-handedly attempt to do it in their memory.

The plan is to start on 31 May 2012 from Stokes Bay and head around England, Wales and Scotland including the Outer Hebrides. He will try to sail for an average of 12 hours a day and keep as close to shore as possible. He will be using a GPSMAP 78s to help guide him on his way.
