Premier League kick off for Middlesbrough
This weekend sees the return of the Premier League after a short break. Garmin sponsored Middlesbrough head into the new season with high hopes after an encouraging pre-season for Gareth Southgate’s young team.
With the latest Garmin Forerunner’s helping the players to get up to full fitness for the long season ahead, the challenge of facing big spending Tottenham Hotspur is the perfect test to see how far Middlesbrough have progressed since last season.
Big names such as Turkish international Tuncay Sanli, Egyptian internatioanl Mido and the free scoring Brazilian Alfonso Alves are the names that will grab the headlines as the big kick off approaches, but keep an eye out for the new additions to the team include French under 21 international star Didier Digard and Dutch under 21 star Marvin Emnes.
Manager Gareth Southgate and Chairman Steve Gibson have built Middlesbrough’s reputation on the development of homegrown talent and youthful development and this season sees even more of an investment in this philosophy. With two young goalkeepers fighting it out for the starting spot in the first team and the swelling number of homegrown players, Middlesbrough really are aiding the development of the national team as well as the Teesiders ranks for the forseeable future.
Good luck to the Gareth and the Boro players from all at Garmin as the big kick off sets us off on another great journey!!
