Steve Peat shows Garmin MTB Academy the stuff of champions

Three Garmin fans enjoyed an action-packed mountain bike masterclass with downhill world champion Steve Peat.

The thrill-seeking trio won a Garmin MTB Academy competition, in association with Bike Radar, with prizes including a training session with Steve at Cannock Chase, a Commencal bike and a Garmin GPS of their choice.

Keen cross country racers themselves, our winners looked on in awe as Steve showed them how to ride a berm like a pro and gave plenty of tips and training on how to improve their technique.

With guidance on pushing the bike into turns for maximum grip and speed, line choice, boosting off jumps and pumping the terrain, Steve certainly inspired his protégés. Winner Natasha says: “It was great riding with Steve, a real privilege. It's not often you have the opportunity to ride with a sporting hero. Also, watching him just tear down the hill has made me realise I must be a little more fearless!"

Our winners were also allowed a sneaky blast round the partially-finished and much-anticipated ‘Monkey Trail’, due to open at Easter.
