Team Garmin’s Tyler Farrar comes sixth in the weekend’s Giro D’Italia action
A flat finish to the first road stage of the Giro d’Italia meant the likelihood of a field sprint — and team Garmin-Slipstream’s sprinter Tyler Farrar was there in the end to take a top five finish, putting him into sixth overall.
“The team put in a great ride for me today,” said Farrar. “Danny, Cam, and Tom did a fantastic job riding the front, and Dave, Bradley, and Julien took care of me for the final. I was feeling good and picked off the intermediate sprint. But I just didn’t quite have the luck in the end. I know that the legs are good, and the team is flying so I think a stage win is definitely in the cards!”
