Top 5 finish along the chaos and cobbles of Belgium
This week we checked in with the Team Garmin guys in Gent, Belgium after they'd had a successful Tour de Flanders. Following Martijn Maaskant taking 4th place on the GC in Belgium we hooked up with the team as they prepared for the Spring Classic Gent-Wevelgem race. Check out the race report from Johnny Welz for an insight on the action from Flanders and Mike 'Meatball' Friedmans account of chaos, crashes and cobbles at the Gent-Wevelgem race.
The team were in high spirits and it was great to get an insight into their Edge 705 experiences and the team dynamics as they prepare for the next challenge ahead. We also took in their latest training ride from the comfort of the team car driven in an able and at times rally driver fashion by Johnny Welz, Director Sportif for Team Garmin.
With the added bonus of having a nuvi 765T in the team car we were able to keep up with Tyler Farrar's local knowledge as he returned to the saddle and took the guys out of sight of us thanks to the ever changing Belgian road network. Time to get the latest nuMaps update Johnny!
