2016 Sun ‘N Fun Fly In Day 3
The annual Sun ‘N Fun Fly In and Expo at Lakeland, Florida was graced with beautiful weather and lots of flying the first two days of the show. Aircraft of all shapes, sizes and ages took to the skies delighting those in attendance. The Garmin booth continues to bristle with activity as excitement grows over our most recent product announcements, which include certified, experimental, ADS-B and portable avionics.
On Wednesday, Red Bull Air Race pilot and airshow performer Michael Goulian stopped by our booth to visit with his fans and sign autographs. He took some time to speak about his recent experiences flying with our experimental G3X Touch flight display system, which he’s installed in his Red Bull Air Race Edge 540, as well as his airshow Extra 330ES. His Edge 540, along with Garmin sponsored pilot Pete McLeod’s Edge 540, are the first pilots to integrate the Garmin Team X avionics in their Red Bull Air Race aircraft.
Air race fans and Sun ‘N Fun attendees will get a special treat this weekend as Michael Goulian and fellow air race pilot Kirby Chambliss will demonstrate a Red Bull Air Race at the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport. Both pilots will navigate through an inflatable pylon course, set up similarly to a championship series race.
If you’re attending the show and haven’t had the opportunity to make your way to our booth, visit us in Hangar D. We’ll be showing off everything from our new aera 660 portable, the newest expermental avionics, to our latest integrated flight deck technology.
