Ambassador Stories: Andy Austin
Traveling the world is the ultimate inspiration and that especially rings true for our newest outdoor ambassador. Introducing Andy Austin, an outdoor photographer with a passion for exploring the world and an even bigger appetite for life itself.
Andy Austin is an award-winning landscape and adventure photographer based out of Montana. He graduated with honors with a degree in psychology from Montana State University, where he also played football for the three time Big Sky Conference champions, Montana State Bobcats. He has photographed on four different continents and 25 different countries. Andy has been published in magazines such as: World Wildlife Fund, Nat Geo Traveler, Sky Magazine, Cowboys and Indians, and more. His clients include: Reebok, Kelty Backpacks, Montana Office of Tourism, Atlas Snowshoes, Kammok, FotoPro Tripods, and now Garmin.
Andy uses Garmin products on all his adventures and truly relies on GPS for navigational purposes. He uses the new Oregon 750t to guide him on and off the beaten path, which features GPS, GLONASS plus ABC (altimeter, barometer and compass) sensor capabilities. The built-in altimeter provides elevation data to accurately monitor ascent and descent, while the barometer can be used to predict weather changes by showing short-term trends in air pressure. The 3-axis electronic compass keeps your bearing, whether you’re moving or not.
Andy’s creativeness and adventurous spirit has inspired all of us to get outside and see more of the world. We are so proud to call Andy an ambassador and we can’t wait to see what kind of adventures he gets himself into. Join the adventure and check out Andy’s amazing outdoor photography and don’t forget to share with us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and use #HaveNoLimits.
