Ambassador Stories: Brett Powell Wins Third WWA Wake Park World Title
Another year, another world title for the young wakeboarding phenom Brett Powell. Just recently, the Garmin ambassador traveled to the Philippines to compete in the 2016 WWA Wake Park World Championships. At age 11, Brett already has two world titles under his belt, but this year was more exciting for the youngster as he moved up into the 14 and under junior class.
Brett trains year-round for the water sport and travels all over the world. Whether he’s riding at his home park in Paola, KS, or practicing down south in Florida, the kid never stops. With his dedication to keep riding and pursuing big tricks, Brett keeps pushing his limits and continues to succeed. On his final run at the WWA Wake Park Worlds Brett landed a toe-side backspin 900 to clinch his third World Title.
Winning his third WWA Wake Park World Title was a huge accomplishment for the young rider and we couldn’t be more proud to call him a Garmin ambassador. Brett takes his VIRB Ultra 30 on all of his adventures, and we always look forward to his footage.
