Garmin Marine Ambassador Spotlight: Valentine Thomas

I am a trained lawyer in Canada and have worked in finance in London, UK for 6 years. I’m also a freediving Instructor with PADI, professional traveler, accomplished chef and advocate of sustainable eating. I quit my well-paying job in London to live a different life and to spread the word about eating and living responsibly.

I travel the world to give conferences as well as fish and hunt with locals in order to eat the best food, that I catch myself. I have a cookbook coming out this Spring, along with a bathing suit line made from recycled materials. Living this type of lifestyle requires quality gear that I can depend on when I’m trying to catch my dinner. Sometimes, I even have to rely on it to help me stay alive. Garmin was the perfect partner for that.

Fun fact: After a childhood accident, I used to be petrified of the water until was 23 years old.
