Retrofit Autopilots: Which Aircraft Models Are Next?

You asked, we answered. When you were looking for cost-effective, retrofit autopilot solutions, we introduced our GFC 500 and GFC 600 digital autopilots.

Now you may be wondering, ‘When will my aircraft model be qualified for installation?’ While our ongoing and planned certifications are subject to change, here’s a roadmap to give you an idea of what may be available next.

Our GFC 500, designed for existing light single-engine, fixed-wing piston aircraft, is currently available for select Cessna 172 and Cessna 182 models. What’s next? We’re working on certification for select models of Beechcraft Bonanza, as well as Piper PA-28. Then, within the next 12 months, we’re planning to begin certification programs for additional models of the Beechcraft Bonanza/Debonair, along with select models of Cessna 210, Mooney M20 and Piper PA-32. The GFC 600 digital autopilot designed for existing high-performance single- and twin-engine aircraft is currently available for the B55 and B55A models of the Beechcraft Baron, plus select Beechcraft Bonanza and Cessna 182 models. Our current in-progress certification programs include additional models of Beechcraft Baron plus Cessna 340 and 340A. Within the next 12 months we’re planning to begin certification programs on select models of Cessna 414, Cessna 421, Cessna Grand Caravan, Piper PA-46 and Socata TBM.
