Jeremy Martin Represents
Some people are just born with the natural talent to ride dirtbikes, an understatement for Jeremy Martin. Jeremy’s been surrounded by racing his whole life. He’s the son of Spring Creek track owners John and Greta Martin and grew up with one of the country’s best motocross tracks right in his backyard.
Jeremy’s been riding since he was 4 years old. His Dad raced professionally in the 80’s and now both he and his older brother compete in the same 250cc class of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross circuit, definitely a family affair.
Jeremy’s the reigning Lucas Oil Pro Motocross champion with two wins in 2014 and 2015. He recently signed a two-year deal with Geico Honda and plan on working his way up to the 450cc class in 2018.
Jeremy’s been part of team Garmin for two years now and uses Garmin products everyday in his training. Whether he’s using his Edge 1000 for his daily bike rides, or uses the VIRB to replay track footage, Garmin plays a crucial role in Jeremy’s training.
“The VIRB is awesome, you watch playback and see if the track’s rough or with the GPS built in you can really go back and see your lines and see what you took to get the fast lap time and you can gauge your speed and average speed around the track, VIRB plays a big role.”
Jeremy uses the fēnix 5 for most of his daily routine as well. Not only is the GPS multisport watch built tough enough for his lifestyle, it provides crucial data for his endurance training on and off the bike.
“For me it’s a big part of my lifestyle and I love it. Even on a normal morning run, to be able to get all the data like your heart rate, calories burned, and VO2 Max, it’s amazing. And then I transfer over to the dirt bike and I have everything I need right there on my wrist.”
The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season has kicked off and Garmin will be the official action camera sponsor this year with our new VIRB 360. You can watch all the action Saturday mornings on NBCSN.
