Garmin teams with Arrow Mapping to bring LakeVü HD to paper maps
Garmin is pleased to announce the release of an all new paper map product. Garmin has teamed up with Arrow Mapping, a Brainerd, Minnesota based mapping company that designs the highest quality paper maps in the United States.
Arrow Mapping has created a line of paper maps for specific lakes in Minnesota using exclusive Garmin multibeam lake survey data. These are a first of a kind paper maps using this type of data, which is the most accurate in the marine industry.
Dan Kavanaugh, President of Arrow Mapping states, “In the age of technology, which is obviously critical to the marine industry, it is not always easy to get the full overview of a lake. Using a paper map with a full view allows a customer analyze key structures to target, then key in on those spots using your Garmin chartplotter. The paper maps are a great, economical tool to be used with Garmin chartplotters, handheld units, smartphones or tablets. They also serve as a safety backup for navigation.”
The new line of paper maps feature one-foot contours powered by Garmin’s multibeam datasets, printed on waterproof/tear resistant paper, marked fishing locations, GPS grid and aerial imagery. Finally, the maps also include POI’s (Points of Interest) such as buoy locations, lake access points and named features that have been collected from state agencies and local guides.
The first release of Minnesota lakes includes the following:
Cass Lake Chain, Beltrami County, MN (Includes Cass, Kitchi and Pug Hole Lakes)
Gull Lake Chain, Cass / Crow Wing County, MN (Includes Bass, Gull, Margaret, Nisswa, Round, Roy, Spider & Upper Gull Lakes)
Lake Bemidji, Beltrami County, MN
Lake Minnetonka, Hennepin County, MN
Lake Vermilion, St. Louis County, MN
Lake Winnibigoshish, Cass County, MN (Includes Big Cutfoot Sioux and Sugar Lake)
Garmin and Arrow Mapping will be continually adding new map titles across the United States, especially southern and western reservoirs. To check out the new maps, please visit arrowmapping.com.
