Forbes Ranks Garmin No. 1 Employer in Kansas
Garmin was named the No. 1 employer in the state of Kansas by Forbes in the publisher’s third annual ranking of America’s Best Employers by State.
“It’s a great validation of what the Garmin culture stands for,” said Laurie Minard, vice president of human resources. “We’re honored to have been recommended by our associates as a top work environment here in the state of Kansas.”
Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to survey 80,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees on a rolling basis from October 2020 to June 2021. Garmin held the No. 1 spot the inaugural year in 2019, No. 2 in 2020 and regained the top spot once again for 2021.
“Our aim as a company is to offer great service to our customers by creating a workplace where our associates feel valued and empowered to contribute their ideas and talents,” noted Cliff Pemble, Garmin president and CEO. “As the Forbes rankings confirm, our associates appreciate and understand that their hard work is making a difference here at Garmin.”
All the surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions. Respondents were asked to rate their employers on a variety of criteria, including the safety of the work environment, competitive wages, opportunities for advancement, etc. Statista then asked how likely each individual would be to recommend their employer to others.
