Garmin Chosen for ‘Made in Kansas’ Program
Garmin is proud to announce it has been selected by the Kansas Department of Commerce as one of the agency’s first Made in Kansas program participants. The program is designed to showcase Kansas-made products and manufacturers to customers in Kansas and across the globe, providing select companies with a verified stamp of assurance for use in promotional activities.
“We are pleased to participate in this program and to raise awareness of incredible products and job opportunities that Kansas companies provide,” said Laurie Minard, Garmin vice president of human resources. “While Garmin is a global company, we are a Kansas company at our core and have always been proud to manufacture products right here in Olathe, Kansas.”
Founded in Kansas in 1989, Garmin employs more than 4,000 associates at its U.S. headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. Associates produce, assemble and distribute thousands of products and circuit boards for our aviation and automotive OEM business within the 490,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility.
