Garmin Marine Ambassador Spotlight: Jason Spiewak
I’m a fisherman and a photographer. I started shooting nine years ago, and I owe my skill and career as a photographer to my love of the water — which began when I was growing up in Miami.
Having the ability to mix in my obsession of photography with my love of fishing, boating or wakeboarding is what drives me to be a better shooter. It’s led to opportunities to photograph and fish for a worldwide brand in Garmin Marine as well as some of the biggest local companies in south Florida: SeaHunter Boats and SA Company.
On a personal level, I’m part of the “Knot 4 Play” fishing team — we mostly tournament fish in south Florida and the Bahamas — and I own a SeaHunter 39. decked out in Garmin technology. We have twin GPSMAP 8617s at the helm and a GPSMAP 7612 in the tower, which helps the Captain have a full-functioning large screen to use while on the run.
When we’re tuna fishing, our GMR 2524 xHD2 makes all the difference in the world, and an Airmar B265LH thru-hull transducer helps with the underwater view.
A Fusion stereo head to power our Wet Sounds speaker and amp system, and a GXM weather antenna keep us entertained and safe on the water.
I plan on continuing to grow as a fisherman, captain, and content creator, but I also plan on getting married and starting a family. Garmin products help me with that balancing act, and I’ve always had faith and full comfort in the brand.
Between the ease of use and the overall functionality, there isn’t a better option than Garmin Marine.
