Garmin® Announces New PRO Control 2 Handheld for Sporting Dog Trainers

Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), today
announced the new PRO Control 2 handheld device, designed for serious
sporting dog trainers, field trialers, and hunt testers. The new device
allows for reliable and consistent control of launchers, releasers and
other accessory items (accessories sold separately). The PRO Control 2
is backwards compatible with the legacy Tri-Tronics® Pro
Control remote receiver, but also features a number of improvements over
the previous model.

“With the new PRO Control 2, avid trainers have a device that builds on
the proven reliability that Tri-Tronics has been known for,” said Dan
Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales. “Best of all, this
handheld is completely functional with legacy Tri-Tronics Pro Control
receivers.”

The first thing trainers will notice is the handheld’s bright yellow
color, which makes it easier to find in a grassy field if it’s
accidentally dropped. What’s more, the new PRO Control 2 can withstand
incidental exposure to water of up to one meter for up to 30 minutes,
and it floats – making it ideal for waterfowl training scenarios. The
new handheld also has the optional ability to release multiple launchers
sequentially, and it controls up to 18 launchers total from up to 700
yards away. The handheld’s display allows the user to easily select
which receiver to activate.

For added interoperability, the PRO Control 2 handheld lets trainers
toggle between launcher mode and e-collar training mode (with compatible
dog device1) so corrections are always at hand. The PRO
Control 2 handheld has a minimum retail price of $129.99 and will be
available in the second quarter of 2015.

The PRO Control 2 is the latest innovation in Garmin’s growing outdoor
segment, which focuses on developing technologies to enhance users’
outdoor experiences and their relationships with their canine
companions. Whether it’s handhelds, wearables, action cameras, or dog
training systems, Garmin devices are essential tools for outdoor
enthusiasts of all levels. For more information about Garmin’s other dog
