Garmin Edge cycling computers enhance riding experience with SHIMANO Di2 update
Cyclists can now view gear shift data and battery status on their compatible Edge device
OLATHE, Kan./December 1, 2021 – Garmin® International, Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), today announced wireless communication enhancements between compatible Edge® cycling computers1 and SHIMANO Di2 electronic shifting systems2 for fast, automatic setup and display of battery status for gear systems of up to 12 speeds.
Through a free software update, cyclists will now be able to view front and rear gear data for 12 speed gear systems – as well as battery life status for left and right shifters – on an Edge cycling computer. Additionally, cyclists can continue to export ride data to third-party sites that analyze gear shift data to help riders gain efficiency by optimizing the gearing on their bike, as well as control their Edge using the hood buttons embedded into supporting SHIMANO Di2 DUAL CONTROL LEVERS.
The free software update is available now; cyclists can update their Edge automatically via Wi-Fi® or by using Garmin Express™.
