Garmin® expands its automotive segment with ConnectedCAM Citroën™ on the new C3

Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), today
announced a partnership with the Citroën brand that brings the Garmin
Intelligent Driving Video Recorder (IDVR) into the new Citroën C3. The
car model officially launched during the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

“We are delighted to launch a world premiere with PSA Group that brings
our camera expertise to their customers via an integrated system that is
feature-packed and easy to use,” said Marc Douay, Garmin account
director for automotive OEM. “This growing partnership is a testament to
the reliability and quality of our camera solutions which further
enhance our automotive portfolio and Garmin tier one positioning.”

The IDVR (ConnectedCAM Citroën) technology arrives factory-installed and
fully integrated on new C3 rear-view mirrors to record what drivers see
through the vehicle’s windscreen. The system is Wi-Fi®
connected to a dedicated application available for both Apple®
and Android services. This full HD connected camera offers a
wide 120° angle, a GPS, and an internal memory of 16 GB to
store photos and videos.

ConnectedCAM Citroën is a camera that allows drivers to immediately
record, store, and share photos and videos from a trip. This
sophisticated IDVR enriches the driving experience with 3 main focal
points:

  • Stay connected: With a simple press of a button, photos will be taken
and shared safely and automatically (if the application is set up
accordingly) through social networks like Facebook, Twitter and
    e-mails.
  • Peace of mind: The camera records and stores what happens in front of
users to provide valuable information in the event of an incident.
Moreover, in the event that an impact is detected, recording is
automatically activated (saves 30 seconds before and one minute after)
in a dedicated memory slot, which can be accessed using the
    ConnectedCAM Citroën application.
  • Find my car: The ConnectedCAM Citroën application can also geolocate a
vehicle and store the position for drivers to easily find their
    vehicles.

Garmin will showcase its IDVR technology in the Garmin booth (South Hall
#35711) during this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Jan.
5-8.
