Garmin(R) GHP(TM) 10 Autopilot System: Now Shipping and on Display
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), the global leader in satellite navigation, today announced its GHP 10 Marine Autopilot system is now shipping to dealers and will be on display for the public at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (Bahia Mar electronics tent, booth #1305). Garmin also introduced the GHC™ 10 Marine RF Autopilot Remote Control – giving boaters more freedom while controlling their boat.
“Having received rave reviews from industry insiders, the GHP 10 Autopilot system is ready to help boaters navigate with ease and confidence,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales. “The RF Autopilot Remote Control takes this convenience to the next level for any situation that may arise.”
The GHP 10 Marine Autopilot has been critically acclaimed for its unique capabilities and ease of use. It uses an ingenious Shadow Drive™ technology – a patented capability that automatically disengages the autopilot if the helm is turned, allowing for quick manual maneuvers without manually disengaging the autopilot. Once the helmsman has re-established a new course, the GHP 10 will automatically resume control. The GHP 10 employs the industry-standard NMEA 2000 interface, and it is designed primarily for boats up to 70 feet using outboard, inboard or stern drives using hydraulic steering.
For the ultimate in autopilot control, the GHC 10 Remote Control offers wireless operation of the GHC 10 from up to 45 feet away. This IPX7 waterproof accessory is ideal for mariners who need to steer the boat from a remote location, and it will float if ever dropped in the water. The remote allows advanced functionality such as Standby/Engage, Man Overboard (MOB), and Turn Left/Right in stepped increments or as quickly and safely as possible. The control also features programmable commands including the ability to begin navigation by GPS, as well as pre-programmed trolling patterns.
