I confirm that this is not an emergency situation and understand that this request will be reviewed and processed during business hours only.*

This form is intended for use by EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) law enforcement agencies to submit their requests to Garmin. This form is not for use by private persons. All EMEA requests must come through this form to be processed. If you are seeking assistance in other parts of the world, please use this form instead.

I confirm that this is a request from a law enforcement agency in EMEA and not a private person.*

We ask you to please review the following limitations and requirements:

  • If disclosure of end user data is sought, we require a court order or other compulsory document that includes all necessary information for review and processing of the request. Specifically:

    • The document must include the information necessary to accurately identify the user and data, as detailed below.

    • The document must sufficiently identify the specific data to be produced (e.g., data types and time frames) and detail a valid legal basis or authority for the request, including, to the extent allowed by local law, details of the inquiry that Garmin would need to identify the correct data.

    • In the European Economic Area, U.K., and Switzerland), if certain types of data are sought, such as activity data from fitness devices or other potentially sensitive information, the submitted document must name and be binding against the Data Controller, Garmin Würzburg GmbH in Würzburg, Germany. Garmin’s other European offices are Data Processors and do not have authority to disclose such end user data or may not even have access to the desired data.

  • Garmin cannot accurately identify a user based on name, birthdate, or address, as this information is not required or validated. We must have an email address or device serial number to ensure identification of the correct user. We also do not store credit card numbers, so inquiries related to credit card charges must provide information from the particular line item on the bank statement.

I understand these requirements, including that Garmin requires a legally-binding compulsory document to disclose data, and wish to proceed with my submission.*

We ask you to please review the following limitations and requirements:

  • With some limited exceptions, Garmin devices cannot independently connect and upload data and must be paired with another device, such as a smartphone, for connectivity. We encourage you to review the product page for the device in question on Garmin.com to learn more about what it can and cannot do. Please note that we do not capture the phone number or IMEI of linked smartphones.

  • Garmin devices generally do not capture or upload continuous location data, and some devices do not even record or upload location at all. There is no way to track a device that has been stolen, and we cannot “push” a notification to devices. Information about the data we process can be found in our privacy policies. Importantly, uploading data to Garmin and device registration are both generally voluntary, so Garmin will only have data which the user has specifically chosen to upload to us.

  • Garmin cannot provide local technical resources or analysis. The majority of our engineering workforce and expertise is located in the United States. If you need information on the structure and content of .FIT files, you can click here to read the full specification. You can also find many helpful articles and frequently asked questions in our Support Center.

I understand these limitations, including that Garmin generally cannot track devices, and wish to proceed with my submission.*
